F A M I L Y || The Kenny Family

Have I mentioned I love Fall? Because I seriously L-O-V-E everything about it. I saw a meme floating around recently that made a jab at white girls wearing yoga pants sipping a pumpkin latte talking about why they love fall–I’m pretty sure they made that with me in mind. I’m just sayin’.

In any case, enough about me, take a look at this glorious early fall shoot I had with Shelby and Matt in Spokane! I had a fabulous time with them and their still growing black lab puppy, and loved getting creative with these portraits!

I hope you enjoy them as much as they do!

W E D D I N G ||Danielle & Jeff || Abracadoodle Kennels

By the time I got to Jeff’s Mom’s house (where she raises beautiful assorted -doodle dogs), I was already in love with everything about the property. People in Spangle waved as we drove by, shop owners leaned against their door frames, beaming out at the world as though they knew exactly where the train of cars that heralded a big country wedding were headed. Rolling yellow wheat fields slowly rose and fell as we watched a bright blue sky full of towering fluffy clouds match their pace. It was breathtaking.

Equally breathtaking is Danielle and Jeff’s love for each other. After Danielle nearly hyperventilated about being able to finally get into her dress, I watched as Jeff stood with shaking hands and shaky breath, listening to the sound of the swishy dress and gorgeous redhead finally coming towards him. I cried. It’s not new, I cry at every wedding, but having known Danielle for…well…quite a while…it made the experience so much more charged for me–for everyone.

I usually don’t say much about the venue, the vendors, etc., but this wedding blew me away. From the decorations, to the elaborate zombie cake that Jeff’s sister made, to the witty and hilarious DJ that had us all entertained the entire evening, to the gorgeous sunset that hit soft blue and purple clouds and Jeff and Danielle slowly swayed at their first dance, this wedding had me enraptured. It was beautiful. It was full of love and joy, and it reminded me that what I do is a gift to me–and I’m forever grateful.

W E D D I N G || Mr & Mrs. Wall – Rockin’ K Ranch, Chattaroy, WA

They both loved the feeling of the ground flying under their feet. They both loved the feeling of racing across the track, pushing themselves-go faster, beat their previous goals, always do better. Then, one day, Stephanie noticed Brad, and asked him what his name was. “Brad,” he said, so very shy, he couldn’t get words out to know what her name was. “My name is Stephanie,” she said, supplying the answer for him. And from that point forward, Stephanie & Brad raced together, each encouraging the other, to move forward, to do better. Just the way it should be.

Their wedding was amazing. From the horse-drawn carriage that delivered Stephanie to her ceremony and reception, to the simple, sweet, perfect ceremony, to the way Brad’s hands shook, ever-so-slightly, when he was waiting for her, his perfect bride– we were in love. Every detail was perfect, and the party was unstoppable.

Steph, Brad, thank you so, so much for letting us capture your day, it was amazing, and we loved every moment of it.

W E D D I N G || Mickie & Jake Lettrick, Mirabeau Park, Spokane, WA

When Mickie and Jake told me they were planning on saving even their first kiss for marriage, I was moved. And impressed. And excited. I think I tried to hug them and the table.

On a bright and sunny July afternoon, Mickie ran to a white tent, covered in blankets so no one could see her, and waited anxiously. Did Jake see her? Was she running late? Why was it so hot?

When she took her first step onto the aisle where Jake could finally see her, they both immediately burst into huge grins, and from that moment on, everyone dissolved away. The ceremony was one man, one woman, a lifelong promise to wait faithfully for one another, and a new promise made to be faithful for one another, in every way.

Mickie & Jake made me cry on several levels, they made me laugh, and they made me proud. I hope you enjoy their Sneak Peek as much as I enjoyed capturing their day.

A special thank you to my partner in crime, Jamee Pilmore, of J. Lynn Photography, for being my life saver and best friend, as per the norm. I love you, seester.

E N G A G E M E N T || Brina & Shane

I love my couples. Brina and Shane, especially. Not only were they up for everything, they were also not above ending a shoot after a devastating run in with HUNDREDS of mosquito’s, right when we were getting ready for some epic water fun. Classy, silly, and warm-hearted, they became more than just a couple to shoot, they became a couple I wanted to become friends with.

Here are a few of my personal favorites from their engagement session, with a link at the bottom to their PASS Gallery! PASS allows them to download all their images, buy prints, share with friends on Facebook, and even let friends sign a guestbook–and best of all, it’s up for a year!

Take a gander:

F A M I L Y|| Jen & Mark

I knew I’d like Jen when she told me how to do a sock bun. That sealed it for me. Really, can you blame me? Sock buns seemed out of my league, and then she walked into my life, and I was thrust into a glitz and glam hairstyle that improved my life 150%. Probably not that much, but it helped.

Jen and Mark have a beautiful house, great interior decorating skills, and great taste in clothing, pets, and friends. Taking pictures of them and their incredibly awesome bulldogs, in their element, was a walk in the park. Literally.

I have two more sessions I can’t WAIT to share, and then this weekend, I’m second-shooting a wedding!

Did I mention I’m obsessed with weddings? Because I am.

E V E N T || The Myer’s Baby Shower

When I was of the average young, naive college age, I went to a church in the middle of a sweeping, wide valley. There, I was completely welcomed, embraced, and loved on by an amazing group of young adults, lead by the wise and approachable Michael.

Then, I met Kristin, the love of his life, and I immediately thought “I want to be more like her!” She was comfortable with her curly hair, laughed infectiously at everything, and when she prayed—ho, man, she prayed in a way that made you *feel* every word she said. She was one of the most beautiful women I had met, inside and out.

When her and Michael got married, I was so pregnant, I almost had to be rolled to the ceremony site. Be it hormones or just incredible joy, I bawled my eyes out when they said their I Do’s. It was a perfect, vintage-fairy tale come true.

And then on Saturday,  I finally got to meet all the women in her life–the ones that raised her, that showed her how to love others, how to graciously accept faults, and how to love herself–even when she didn’t want to. The way they honored Kristin and the next step in her life was incredible, and I cried again. This was a family to strive to become–one that loved Christ and honored their family, that was close knit, that cherished each personality as the day progressed.

Kristin’s mother, Sandee, did an AMAZING job decorating and planning this beautiful event, and should become decorator professionally. F’reals. She can start with my house.

Here’s a few of my favorite shots from the day:
