W E D D I N G ||Danielle & Jeff || Abracadoodle Kennels

By the time I got to Jeff’s Mom’s house (where she raises beautiful assorted -doodle dogs), I was already in love with everything about the property. People in Spangle waved as we drove by, shop owners leaned against their door frames, beaming out at the world as though they knew exactly where the train of cars that heralded a big country wedding were headed. Rolling yellow wheat fields slowly rose and fell as we watched a bright blue sky full of towering fluffy clouds match their pace. It was breathtaking.

Equally breathtaking is Danielle and Jeff’s love for each other. After Danielle nearly hyperventilated about being able to finally get into her dress, I watched as Jeff stood with shaking hands and shaky breath, listening to the sound of the swishy dress and gorgeous redhead finally coming towards him. I cried. It’s not new, I cry at every wedding, but having known Danielle for…well…quite a while…it made the experience so much more charged for me–for everyone.

I usually don’t say much about the venue, the vendors, etc., but this wedding blew me away. From the decorations, to the elaborate zombie cake that Jeff’s sister made, to the witty and hilarious DJ that had us all entertained the entire evening, to the gorgeous sunset that hit soft blue and purple clouds and Jeff and Danielle slowly swayed at their first dance, this wedding had me enraptured. It was beautiful. It was full of love and joy, and it reminded me that what I do is a gift to me–and I’m forever grateful.

W E D D I N G || Mickie & Jake Lettrick, Mirabeau Park, Spokane, WA

When Mickie and Jake told me they were planning on saving even their first kiss for marriage, I was moved. And impressed. And excited. I think I tried to hug them and the table.

On a bright and sunny July afternoon, Mickie ran to a white tent, covered in blankets so no one could see her, and waited anxiously. Did Jake see her? Was she running late? Why was it so hot?

When she took her first step onto the aisle where Jake could finally see her, they both immediately burst into huge grins, and from that moment on, everyone dissolved away. The ceremony was one man, one woman, a lifelong promise to wait faithfully for one another, and a new promise made to be faithful for one another, in every way.

Mickie & Jake made me cry on several levels, they made me laugh, and they made me proud. I hope you enjoy their Sneak Peek as much as I enjoyed capturing their day.

A special thank you to my partner in crime, Jamee Pilmore, of J. Lynn Photography, for being my life saver and best friend, as per the norm. I love you, seester.

E N G A G E M E N T || Brina & Shane

I love my couples. Brina and Shane, especially. Not only were they up for everything, they were also not above ending a shoot after a devastating run in with HUNDREDS of mosquito’s, right when we were getting ready for some epic water fun. Classy, silly, and warm-hearted, they became more than just a couple to shoot, they became a couple I wanted to become friends with.

Here are a few of my personal favorites from their engagement session, with a link at the bottom to their PASS Gallery! PASS allows them to download all their images, buy prints, share with friends on Facebook, and even let friends sign a guestbook–and best of all, it’s up for a year!

Take a gander:

Starting Over….or….The Blogocalypse

It’s time for a fresh sheet of paper. A gorgeous new theme, to match my beautiful website, to match my beautiful new branding that’s consistently in the works, to match my beautiful couples.

It’s kinda beautiful.

So, with that, I decided I wanted to focus on much more than posing, on perfect portraits with perfect lighting. I want to live in every moment, and find something beautiful to photograph, no matter where I am.

So, to help inspire me, keep me on task, and further the drive I have to continually improve my skills, and get my creative juices flowing, I decided to do a 1-a-day challenge for the next month.

Good luck to me, since I can't barely eat food two days in a row. (Just kidding. Food is amazing.)

So, Today is the first day of this ambitious project. It was actually really cool-I ended up taking several shots that I absolutely adored while waiting to find what I was looking for.

Cheddar Cauliflower Soup from the High Nooner

Cheddar Cauliflower Soup from the High Nooner

This glorious bowl of soup is my favorite food……of the day. See, when it said Favorite Food, I was like “I can’t afford to go to the Melting Pot…..sooooo…..” And then I realized I could go the other way and be all….open minded. And stuff.

So, here’s to you, Cauliflower Cheddar Soup of Cheddary Cauliflowery goodness! And thumbs up to you, High Nooner, for having glorious avocados that I can slurp out of my sandwiches.

P.S. Your chicken is suspiciously gross and fake looking. But your avocados are AHMAYZING.

Here’s two other shots of things found whilst thrifting with friends:

While I know that there's a thing about people being shoved into trunks.....don't you think the bad guys would just.....not....buy that type of car? Because....I think I would just NOT buy that car--if I was in the habit of shoving people in my trunk. But I don't, I just shoot them.

If they hadn't been size 2 1/2, I was all sorts of ready to get them. *sigh*

Just a few snigglet’s of goodness. Thrifting is great, great fun!
